I am sitting here in Pestigo watching these clips from OTAs, and I am already fired up before I even finished my first cup of coffee.

Matthew Golden out there, snatching balls out of the air like he's been doing it to 10 years.

And then you see those young linemen, Burton and Belton, getting the real reps at right guard and right tackle,

not just standing around holding a clipboard, actually working.

You understand me?

This is the part that gets me every time.

People want to call it hype.

They want to say it's just June and the pads aren't even on yet.

Hogwash.

This is what happens when you draft right and then you develop right.

Golden isn't out there making those plays

because he's still some wide-eyed rookie. This is year two. He's putting in the work,

getting sharper and showing exactly why we drafted them where we did. That's not luck. That's

preparation, meeting opportunity. And those linemen, Burton and Belton,

getting those first team looks at RG and RT, tells me the coaching staff isn't afraid to put

young bodies in the fire early. They're not waiting until training camp to find out who can

handle it. They're finding out

right now in the quiet part of the off season when nobody's watching except the people

who actually matter. That's how you build a line that lasts more than one season. That's how you

keep the window open instead of slamming it shut every two years.
