Most people who travel to Fall River, Massachusetts do so with one destination in mind. A bed and breakfast located at 230 second street.

For true crime buffs, they will know the house number has changed. It was originally 92 second avenue, but as Fall Creek's population grew, the city had to expand its numbering to include new buildings in the area.

This bed and breakfast has a very particular set of house rules that all guests must adhere to and some of those go way beyond the no smoking and no pets rules.

For example, there are no Ouija boards permitted on the property and guests must sign a waiver acknowledging potential danger for unsupervised children as well as to those involved in acts throwing on the property.

Yes, I said acts throwing. Additionally, there is no alcohol allowed on the premises. The house rules warn and I quote,

we have already had two fatal head injuries in the home, but it's those head injuries that draw people to this house.

In 1892, Andrew and Abby Borden were killed here and the main suspect was their daughter or rather Andrew's daughter Lizzie.

There have been so many books and movies made about Lizzie Borden all claiming different motives or observations as to why Andrew and Abby were murdered and why Lizzie did it.

But everything about this case has been exploited. From the children singing the jump rope song, I know you've heard it.

Lizzie Borden took an axe and gave her mother 40 wax and when she saw what she had done, she gave her father 41.

To the Lizzie Borden bubbleheads and toy axes that you can buy at the gift shop.

But even though it may not have actually been 40 or 41 wax, the truth remains that Abby and Andrew Borden were brutally murdered and no one has ever been punished for it.
