Summary

#86. Andy sat down in person with Liza Copeland at the Toronto Boat Show not too long ago. In fact, they shared a booth alongside Paul & Sheryl Shard, who were all part of the seminar program at the show. Liza has sold an astounding number of her books, all about the cruising lifestyle, which has made her a household name in the sailing world. She first circumnavigated with her young family aboard a production Beneteau, and has since sailed over 100,000 miles in that boat, called 'Bagheera.'

Andy & Liza discussed how she got into cruising and what it's like saiing around the world with a family! This is truly an inspiring episode for anyone thinking of sailing with kids (Andy met her son at the show, who's now a successful airline pilot - and still a sailor!).

You can find Liza's books online at aboutcruising.com.

with a westerly wind of about 12 to 15 knots, we were sailing like 10 to 15 knots boat speed. It was incredible. I've never sailed the multi-haul before, and it was a hell of a ride. It was awesome. So, huge thanks to ATN for taking me sailing down in Florida. Weather's a bit different here in Pennsylvania. But anyway, it's nice to be back home. This is episode number 86. This is Liza Copeland.

He gave me a coffee maker, which was very helpful, and he came by to see how the class was doing. And of course, we used all weems and plath plotting tools and that sort of stuff like I always use and like I have on the boat as well. I've been a big fan of weems and plath for a long time. And also, I got a pair of prototype binoculars.

2:15.7

They just came out with a new binocular line in the fall, specifically to compete on the highest levels of the market. So brands like Steiner and Fujianon, that's who they're going up against. And so far from what I've seen, I think they're going to do a very good job of it. I'm going to take the binoculars down to the Caribbean for the Serenity trip and give you a full report on those.
