Tell us why you decided to create this book in the first place.

So Liz and I have been writing articles together,

and we probably would turn one of our articles into a book. And the topic that we both

have been talking a lot about is this idea that when you first start working, you think

that you have to be professional and there's no room for emotions at work. And we each had our

own backstory. So I had been working as a product manager for a startup,

and I woke up one day, and that area above my right eye was completely numb. And I finally went to

go see a doctor after a few days, and the diagnosis was anxiety. And I realized I had all these

emotions coming up, fear, anxiety, frustration,

and I wasn't able to talk about them in the workplace or really learn from them. I had just

been repressing them. And Liz can share her story from when she was first getting started.
