Sound Transit plans to announce the station's opening date

today. The $8.5 mile $3.1 billion extension has been under construction since 2019. By 2026, the agency

estimates more than 47,000 riders pass through stations at Shoreline, Montlake Terrace, and Linwood City Center.

Seattle's nine-year transportation levy is set to expire at the end of the year.
