Well, hello there and welcome back. My name is Stephanie Safarian and you're listening to episode

509 of Sustainable Minimalists. This is a listener-supported show about intentional and

eco-friendly minimalist living. And on today's show, we are talking about seasonal living. Yes,

but we are, of course, doing it with a twist. More specifically,

my guest and I today are offering up alternatives to the commercialized, prepackaged, and

overpriced ways so many of us tend to celebrate throughout the year. During all four seasons, life tends to become so

loud with demands and obligations that those quiet moments, those inherently beautiful

moments that may take a little bit more time or effort, but are indeed more beautiful and more lasting, those moments

get pushed aside as inconsequential. And this is especially true during the month of December,

isn't it? And by the way, this is not the holiday season. No, no, no. We are approaching the winter

solstice. And my guest argues that when

we follow our intuition, as opposed to following the flashy, bright, store-bought ways to

celebrate, we will naturally, as in, with nature's help, get back to a place of connection, connection with others,

connection with ourselves, connection with nature, and with traditions we cannot live without.
