Is it possible to find hope and healing in the shadow of grief?

Our guest today, Talbot Professor Dr. David Keen, personal friend of probably about two decades or so,

is the author of a new honest, heart-wrenching, hopeful, and bivocally-based book about processing grief after the premature loss of his son, Adam.

Dave, I've been looking forward to this for a long time.

Haven't seen you walk through the story, you know, and help maybe in a small way with the book,

and just have wanted our audience to hear your story and account of this

for a long time. So I can only imagine it's not easy to tell a story every time, but thanks for

writing the book and thanks for coming on. It is a real pleasure to be with you. Sean, I've known

you, like you said, for a very long time and to think back to our coffee needups that we used to have way back when to now,

we've come a long way, baby.

You'll say that.

That was when I was teaching high school full time before teaching here at Biola and Talbot,

having your amazing daughter in class and our kids were in the same class going way back.

So all that is to say, this is our podcast, which gets academic, but it's, it's personal.

2022 change my life forever yeah that is the day that we got the tragic news that our son

adam had passed away it was sudden it was unexpected it was due to a brain aneurysm erupting in his brain.

He was a youth pastor at the time. He didn't show up to a staff meeting. His church got worried, started asking around. His wife had already been, had left earlier to go to work. She got their
