Honestly, how much of your life is spent building and crafting your story?

The dash between the birth and the death date on a tombstone.

Building something bigger, crafting something stout and strong, but the truth is nothing

lasts, nothing is sturdy.

But we spend so much energy creating a narrative that we think others expect, a work of perceived

success until we become captive and bound to the tale.

Fighting the truth that life is temporary, we become enslaved to an imaginary chronicle

of our own eternal design.

The theme of this meditation from Galatians chapter 5 is Freedom.

Freedom to surrender to the truth of the temporary.

To resist crafting our own immortality and appreciate the divine momentary.

So to begin your meditation, slip into a time and space of this moment.

Consent to surrender this very moment to God's spirit and Son.

Not the moment that just passed, not the moment to come, but the fit of this moment.

Just by listening and responding to this prayer from Psalms and respond, Heavenly Father,

I surrender this moment to you.

Out of my distress, I called on the Lord.

The Lord answered me and set me free, Heavenly Father, I surrender this moment to you.

The Lord is God and He has given us light illuminating us with His grace and freedom

and joy.
