So, one of the premises, it's a little bit loud maybe.

So one of the premises of insight meditation is that mindfulness is useful. It's helpful. But to emphasize that, I'd like to say

that it's so useful that it's almost as if we have two different bodies.

We have the body that we have when we're not aware of it

and the body we have when we're mindful of it.

We have two different capacities for emotions.

The emotions that we have, but we don't really know,

and the emotions we have when we're mindful of it. It's not like different emotions, the emotions that we have where we don't really know, and the emotions we have when

we're mindful of it. It's not like different emotions, but it's almost like a different world

that we're living in. We live like in two different worlds, the world where we're not

mindful, not attentive, and the world where we are mindfulness. It's that different to be mindful.

And so to really kind of be present and experience this different world

or this different body, a different kind of self we have,

when we're really present for what's happening in our body, our mind, our hearts,

in our thoughts, in our feelings, our impulses, our desires,

our responses we have to the world, to really inhabit that fully is what it means to be mindful.

And one of the primary characteristics of mindfulness practice

that is a word that we sometimes don't use in this tradition that much,
