As a content creator, there is something I constantly struggle with, and that is overproduction.

I found that the more you produce something, the less authentic it feels.

It made me think about this verse in Matthew chapter 23, verse 5 that says,

They do all their deeds to be seen by others they make their

philactories broad and their fringes long this is Jesus talking saying whoa

to the scribes and the Pharisees when you say woe to anything you're saying

danger look out these guys are you know they they're playing, they're dancing around fire with

gasoline underwear. It's a big deal. This is danger's going to come. And when he is saying

this, he's saying it about one class of people, one group of people, the religious leaders. They

were called the scribes, the Pharisees, but there was one thing that they had in

common, and that was that they were overproducing their lives in a way. They were making their

philactories broad. A phylactory was this like box that they would put scripture into and

important things into, and they would wear it on their foreheads to show that the word of God is on the forefront of our heads, right?

A very literal translation of that, very literal interpretation of what God was telling them to do in the Old Testament.

But they would also make their fringes long. They would have these robes and on these fringes.

They would sway and move and made them look special and spiritual and powerful.

And they were doing that.

Why?

To be seen by others.

And Jesus is telling them the apostles, don't be like that.

Don't act like that.
