Hello to all of our campuses across the great state of Alabama and in Georgia, and as always a big hello to the men and women in the Alabama Department of Corrections.

We love you all so very much. And happy Memorial Day weekend. Today, as we gather, we honor those who have served and are serving our country, but especially those who gave their lives for our freedom.

Today we remind ourselves that freedom is it free,

and we thank God for the brave sacrifice of those who gave their lives

so we could be free.

May God bless their families, and may God bless the United States of America. Amen.

Today marks our ninth year in a row hosting what we call Young Communicators Weekend. Now, what is that?

Well, at Highlands, we deeply believe in developing young leaders, those who have a call of God on their lives for ministry.

And today we're thrilled to feature four different speakers who are students right here at Highlands College.

And the theme for the day is the heartbeat of Highlands College, and that is living a life of eternal impact. Now listen, many of these

young leaders have never had an opportunity like this before. So as a church family, we get to

support them as they're being developed as ministry leaders. You know, I'll never forget my

first time speaking on a Sunday. I was just 20 years old, and to be honest, it really wasn't that great,

but my pastor kept encouraging me to speak, and I am where I am today because I was given the chance to grow.

So, you know what to do.

If they're preaching well, let them know it, lean in, give them an amen, laugh at their

jokes, enjoy this process with them.

And if they're not preaching that well, give them an amen, laugh at their jokes, and enjoy

this process with them.

Some of them are going to be really, really, really nervous,

and I want you to make it easy on them.
