Hey everyone, welcome to Red Men TV. This is the build-up show ahead of Liverpool

Versa Tottenham Sunday, half four at Amfield. I'm Steehoe. I'm delighted to be joined by Lewis and by John for this one. Part one, we're going to have a look at Liverpool's opponents, Tottenham, and what an absolute whatever you call that, Tottenham at this moment in time, shambles, it's probably being kind to them.

And then the second half of the show

would have looked look at the Liverpool team news and try and pick our teams for the game how we think it's going to go we'll also have a little look around the Premier League I do with the fixtures obviously both teams involved in this weekend's game are battling for different things some of them them are battling for a Champions League place, that's us,

and some of them are battling to stay in the division,

which is Tottenham, which is kind of crazy when you think about it.

So, yeah, let's get on with it, guys.

Liverpool are having a pretty bad season,

spares are having one of the maddest,

weirdest, craziest seasons of all time

John, I'll start with you

yeah if it could go wrong for Tottenham

it's kind of going wrong and they find themselves

in a position where they are in deep deep deep trouble. Like last year with Ange, they were down the bottom, but they were never going to get relegated. The gap between the bottom three and them was always significantly enough where Totten could have easily done what they did, effectively throw the league to in the Europa League. This year, Under Eagle 2 though now, they have not got that luxury. they are banging this one which is I mean I'm surprised that it's a gone this way are you?

Yeah I mean I think you know both just in terms of like history and stuff and sort of like you know you don't expect spares necessarily be that on there given recent history but also just you know in terms of the league I think across the years gone. Like I think everyone was convinced

the three teams that come up were going straight back down kind of thing and then obviously it's sort of leveled out a bit maybe with Sunderland now but Sunderland just went on that run and then you know leads in Burnley or maybe Burnley have sort of reverted to type a bit you know know, but they're still in the mix as well.

So I don't think, I think by now a lot of people sort of thought it'd be just sort of cut and dried and it's the manner, I think, as well, in which it's happened to them. Because I think you can, like, it's also part of the problem they've got in as much as, like, you can look at that squad and go loads of these fellas have got moves at the end of the season you know what I mean and like I said that's probably part of the problem but I think a lot of people myself included probably thought that getting a new manager in post-ange you know Europa League football all right they're probably not going to finish maybe top six necessarily but they're going to finish top half maybe seven to eight have a good one in the Europa League and it feels as if you know

they've almost just carried on from that season even though they got Thomas Franklin who played a

completely different style of football they were still just like wide open at the back you know

relatively blunt up front and it's just a weird thing and like I said like there's so many um and then when we used to have Aubrey on the show, like he used to talk about players, and he'd say, like, you know, there's certain players who were just bad enough to get you beaten kind of thing. I used to say a lot about Sam in your lay. And I feel like it's a lot of that with spares where they've got a lot of lads who are good and you look at them on paper and go, these are fantastic. They should be higher, but they're all sorts of players you haven't quite made in a bigger teams and that's why they're taught them. I think it's all just come together in one big. Yeah, it's an absolute mess. One thing I will say, Lewis, before we got onto it, they've got a ton of injuries as well, which hasn't helped.

But like I say, the idea of the Thomas Frank thing was to come in, stabilize, go again. And actually, he started quite well. Like, very early on, I was quite impressed. He was in around the top five, top six, and you're thinking, oh, okay, but then they have, they've just been down, damn, bam. it's gone worse and worse.
