Summary

To take stock of the week just gone and look ahead to Liverpool v Southampton, John Gibbons hosts Andy Heaton, Sian Bennett and Craig Hannan. Also on the show, we go back to what was a busy weekend for the city with three pilot events taking place in the form of 'The First Dance' presented by Circus at Bramley Moore Dock on the Friday and Saturday, as well as a concert in Sefton Park on the Sunday, as Liverpool gears up for life after lockdown. To reflect on all of that and discuss what is next for the city as COVID restrictions continue to ease, John speaks to Claire McColgan, the Director of Culture Liverpool; Matt Ashton, the Director of Public Health; and DJ Lauren Lo Sung who was the first performer at the event on the Friday. Hello, it's John Givens hosting this week and I'm very excited because we are back in the studio.

We are in the studio today and I'm joined by Theheating by Sean Bennett and my career canon to talk about the last week in and around Liverpool and it'll be very Liverpool focused on and off the pitch. It's been an interesting week parts to three and 4 are all going to be focused around the test events

0:25.7

that went on last weekend in Liverpool. So I'm delighted to be joined people from Culture

0:30.4

Liverpool, from Public Health and alsojays who performed at the events and

0:34.7

obviously a couple of people in the room as well but I say obviously I could be in the room

0:38.3

at those events as well so I'm going to get them to give a little bit of feedback from their

0:42.1

point of view at the start when we come back in.

But before all that last weekend, as I say, was very eventful and there's a game against

0:49.9

Manchester United that normally we'll be reflecting on still but we can't because it

0:54.5

didn't happen and so instead we'll reflect on what all means from a live point

0:59.0

of view and I was looking around things people were saying about what we

1:01.9

did and how we covered last weekend and I found

1:03.9

this post on Wok which I thought was quite interesting and I don't know the post of the name so apologies I didn't make a note to that

1:11.1

but a lot of people talking about the coverage that we did and obviously being in

1:14.3

Manchester focused and this poster said it's fair enough and totally

1:17.6

understandable that Taw's attention has mostly been on the protest and its purpose.

1:20.8

It's part of a bigger picture after all. But now I'd like to hear

1:23.7

about what it means to the sporting side that looks at we're going to be pushed into

1:26.4

reschedule that frankly disadvantages us and helps united and there's no chance to this

1:30.6

will be a fair outcome. Now that the smoke of the

1:33.3

protest is clearing somewhat I think it's worth discussing. Now obviously that was
