I mean, I would say my expectation is now that he will leave,

which I think is a tragedy.

I mean, it was clear to me in January from speaking to people, the player was very keen to go to Inter Milan, which I think painted a picture about where he was up to, what he thought his role in Liverpool's squad was in that moment. Then we barely saw him for a while, and now we're seeing him at the end of the season, and it's kind of shoved into the team at right back. I think he's done an excellent job, which is testament to his versatility, how good a player he is. But we're still on that same path really towards him leaving. I just think that's a travesty, to be honest. I mean, you've got there, even in the numbers he profiles as kind of one of the best young midfielders in Europe up in terms ball retention, winning his jewels, he's versatile as I say, he can play right back. And Liverpool, in a season where they've been so poor in central midfield, have not been able to find a place for a local lad who wants to play for Liverpool, who's got that quality. And for me, would have been a better optional season than McAllister, for example. I can't understand it, to be honest. And, you know, the only benefit for Liverpool, I guess, is, okay, they'll bank some pure profit for the SCR rules. But, I mean, what's that to having a Liverpool, Leon on the pitch? I can't,'t you know I think there's beyond all

I mean, you look at Manchester United in the 90s and into the 2000s, the importance of having local lads who basically, you know, they underpin that squad for 15 years.

You know, players like Ryan Giggs, like Paul Skulls, like Nicky Butt, like, you know,

the ones of Phil Neville, Gary Neville, you know, some of those, you know, Phil Neville and Nicky Butt, for example, they weren't world beaters ever even at the peak, but they just came in.

They played 30 to 40 games a season where were hugely important in the collection of major trophies. You need that. And the fact that the local, the more likely to be willing to stay for that role. But the problem I think for Curtis has come, that his role has been so reduced at periods in the season, that he's not happy with that. It needs to be a little bit more. And Liverpool haven't been able to kind of satisfy that need. And I know what will happen in the reporting when he leaves. It will be very much pushed on to him, and it will be said, you know, he wanted to leave for more game time. It's his decision, that kind of thing. Well, Liverpool, they could have sated that need. They could have given him more, and he didn't. and I just I think that's a failure for me from you know from the hierarchy down to on the slot really they should have been able to find a role for him because he's a very good player who for me could have been you know very much key to more trophies being won in the future.
