It is Friday, April 17th and I'm here to bring you all the latest Liverpool news ahead of, like say, the Merseyside Derby this weekend. Some of it relates that, of course, and there's some other transfer bits and bobs as well. But unfortunately, going to start with some really sad news.

obviously former Liverpool goalkeeper

Alex Manninger,

unfortunately died at the age of 48

in a traffic accident,

which is devastating news,

obviously for the Manninger family.

The Austrian was at Liverpool

for the final year of his career in 2016. He came in, Yeager and Klopp brought him in as like that experienced back-up goalkeeper. He didn't feature in any competitive games. They're playing a couple of friendly games, was named on the bench a few times as well. Obviously, Beth and Olmford is his times at the likes of Arsenal you know we had a bit of time

at Fiorentina your venses as well and obviously the Austrian national team but yeah really

devastating news so obviously condolences on behalf of the Redmond family to Alex Manninger's family and yeah

just really really sad news unfortunately that we've got to start the podcast with and it's hard to

transition away from that into other football news

and it's probably a stark reminder of football

as it being the most important

of the least important things

as we touch upon them

what's going to happen for the rest of the season

but it would have been remiss not to mention that one

so yeah really really sad news
