Jay Pearson and I'm here with your news for today. So we're going to be talking about

Liverpool's friendly defeat of Arsenal 2-1 in Philadelphia. We're also going to be talking about Annie Slots' thoughts on the game,

about Anthony Gordon after the Reds have shown the hand.

So let's start with Liverpool and the defeat of Arsenal. So we are, you know, two weeks away

from the Premier League season and some people are saying

it's putting a little bit of a marker down beat a national 2-1 in America I do sort of

see that a little bit because I mean I don't really like it when we play

Premier League opposition abroad but I get it I get the reasons why but you know these

friend is a little bit more spicing they sort of adds a little bit to it you know it's

not three points but you know psychologically does it work I don't

know but you know the one of the great things is that Liverpool have won a game of

footy which is fantastic again you know following on from the the defeat of Betty so you know we're making a decent start to pre-season and what better way to do that

than a 2-1 victory over your title foes in Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field.

Both sides were once again without a number of key players

as they rest and recover following their involvement at the Euros and the Copper America.

But yeah, it was Liverpool that were notably the sharper side in the first half.

Both sides are made up mostly starters in that first half.

Reds were really quick in transition, winning the ball back and repeatedly played through

ourselves midfield and defence.
