Hello and welcome to this week's Liverpool.com podcast it's Dan Morgan, James Martin and Joel Rabinovitz where we are going to celebrate 10 years of Jordan Henderson.

Liverpool's captain since 2014 he took the armbands from Stephen Jeddard and has since won

at the Premier League the UEFA Champions League the FIFA Super Cup.

FIFA Club World Cup sh sorry, you ate for Super Cup, and hopefully many more to come.

And yeah, to discuss Jordan Henderson, we want to sort of give the whole show to him over the course of the next however long we're here.

We're going to discuss his journey. We're going to discuss the bumps in the road of which he's had many and we're going to discuss what's still to come.

As he enters the age of 31 as the little girl captain we hope a lot more, we hope a lot more success.

But for now I'm going to start with the journey and the journey at the very beginning and I have to

caveat this by saying I'm on a call with a 23 and 24 year old who have a lot more years on me and so I might be the one carrying

this particular element of the show a little bit but Joel give me your thoughts as early as you can as vivid as you can from when Henderson signed.

And you know, with, I suppose with a degree of hindsight attached now what you think perceptions were around him

around the time he came into the club? Yeah I mean this will make you feel even old about I was back at school

when we signed him and this was in the days

when I don't have been Twitter probably had started but I wasn't on Twitter transfers weren't they all sort of

24-7 coverage that you get now where you can see rumors left right and

centre.

So it wasn't something that you were sort of tracking in the way, but we sort of tend to know who

clubs are following at the moment. Obviously, Liverpool tend to keep most of their stuff kind of under wraps but you tend to have a pretty good idea of what kind of players most clubs are looking for and back then that wasn't really the case so much so from my perspective it was one that

came out of the blue a little bit and he had two seasons in the Premier League at

Sunderland he his reputation was good at the time but it wasn't like kind of the current crop of English players like Mount Foden and

Players like that coming through who really are kind of dubbed as an ex-superstars He was kind of a play, he was promising,

but nobody knew quite how good he would be.
