Summary

Alisa Childers knows the difference between “live the truth” and “live your truth.” In her new book, the former ZOEgirl singer/songwriter explains how modern lies disguised as truth in today’s culture have taken hold in many churches. Does Scripture call Christians to “follow their hearts” and “make their dreams a reality?” Alisa points the way to freedom and relief from popular deceptions that can leave us anxious, exhausted, and self-obsessed.  Congratulations to our winners of a copy of Alisa's book, Live Your Truth and Other Lies, courtesy of Tyndale Elevate: *Freddy F. from Jacksonville, AR  *D. You are listening to Mortification of Spin. My name is Todd Pruitt. I want to say any guest who comes on

need to understand they're risking their reputation a little bit. There will be some people

in the Presbyterian Church in America who may not like them anymore, but others who will like them a lot.

1:29.2

So it's kind of a, you know, you give and take a little bit there.

But it's especially, I'm especially encouraged when a woman will come on with two guys who aren't always incredibly sensitive.

1:40.9

And, you know, you've got to have some thick skin because of how kind of mean-spirited we are

1:46.9

periodically, right, Carl? I mean, we're rather insensitive. We're kind of oafish, right?

1:53.1

Well, I'm English, so I'm emotionally two-dimensional. This is true. And I'm in the OPC, which means

1:58.3

I only need to connect with two emotions anyway, righteous indignation and anger.

2:02.9

I like that.

2:03.5

Both of which I've sort of mastered over the years.

2:05.8

That's awesome.

2:06.6

Well, I'm in the PCA, so nuance is the name of the game.

2:10.1

And I'm not always good at that.

2:11.6

But we are happy that Lisa Childers has decided to take the risk and come on mortification of spin
