And we are here live at the Pavilion Theatre in beautiful downtown Dunleary.

You might know us as the host of a podcast called Nothing Is Real, which has been going.

If you don't know, we've done about 180 episodes over the last five years of anything to do with the Beatles from Sergeant Pepper to Paul McCartney's songs about birds, which is probably my favourite.

We are here tonight because it is 60 years, almost, since A Hard Day's Night was released in July, 1964.

This film is probably many people's entry point to the Beatles.

It's not just a film about the Beatles. I think it tells you a lot about the social history of the 60s and the period. We're going to look at obviously the stars

of the film, the people who were involved in making it, and it was only 20 months from their

first single until they're on the big screen. A lot happened in that 20 months and a lot happened in terms of

potential films and things that didn't happen and things that almost happen. And we're going to

look at all of that. We're going to look at all that. So 20 months, that's like somebody putting

out a single in August 2022 and suddenly having a worldwide film being released today. It's that

kind of timeline. And of course, you know, the film doesn't come out of nowhere. It happens in the midst of their kind of ascending fame.

We're going to pull on all those threads tonight.
