Summary

Finally, the truth is coming out: Tory minister Nadhim Zahawi has admitted reaching a tax settlement with HM Revenue and Customs over a supposed 'error' worth million. Even more remarkably, he negotiated the settlement when he was Chancellor of the Exchequer. What on earth is going on, what's the truth - and what does it tell us about our broken tax system? Tax expert Richard Murphy joins us to explain all.

As the anti-trans moral panic escalates with the showdown over Scotland's reform of the gender recognition process, we're joined by trans writer, vlogger and activist extraordinaire Katy Montgomerie.

Plus: with horrific news that dozens of child asylum seekers have been abducted by gangs, we talk to anti-trafficking social worker Lauren Starkey.

quite a lot of terrible things to talk about, we would do so with much cheer as we can,

0:42.2

the problem is the material we've got, awful, but we're going to try and always, I suppose

0:48.4

it's not being cheerful, but trying to encourage people to think that maybe as terrible and

0:56.5

otherwise we're just making people from miserable to taken, it seems a little bit futile,

1:04.5

that, later on in the show, speaking of which, we will be talking about an absolutely horrendous

1:10.9

story, which is about child asylum seekers who've been taken kidnapped by gangs, absolutely

1:19.3

gruesome story to say the least, and we'll be talking about that, and the home office is

1:23.6

failures, we're talking to Lauren Starkey, who's a brilliant anti-trafficking social worker,

1:30.0

the anti-transmoral panic has, you probably haven't, have noticed, has not gone away,

1:34.3

and it continues to escalate, not least because of the standoff over Scotland's democratic decision

1:39.9

to reform the gender recognition process, and then the attempts by the Conservative Government,

1:45.9

led by Rishi Sinak, to overturn that democratic decision, and the impact that's having on

1:51.0

trans people, not just in Scotland, but across the UK, we've got the brilliant Katie Montgomery,

tax affairs, and what it says more broadly, because we're not just going to talk about Natham Zaharri's,
