Now, regular listeners will have heard Jan read

from this book before, but when you get to church

on a Sunday, you don't complain because the Vickers

reading from the Bible again. Well, it is a bit like the Nadine one in that it is a challenge to distinguish, you know know what's the real book and what's

parody you know that because there is things like you know when she finds out that

that the Queen has died you, in typical solipsistic fashion.

He goes, why me? Why now?

And a lot of it does sound like Adrian Moll's diary.

Like she says at the quite near the beginning,

things did not work out as I had hoped. And at the beginning of the book she sort of inadvertently

describes the book itself while seeming not to. She says,

I could write a whole book identifying what went wrong,

complaining about the unfairness of it all

and justifying the choices I made.

Maybe I will write that book one day.
