I am back in New York City, but I was just in Ireland with Carrie Gold to visit some of their partner farms and see how their iconic butter and cheese is made.

One of the highlights was a visit to the Ballymolu Festival of Food, held down in

County Cork on the grounds of the famous Ballymolu House. I was very excited to be part of the

festival. On Saturday afternoon, I hosted a live radio episode presented by Carrie Gold called Breaking the

Mold, a conversation with four modern farmers. I had the privilege of interviewing Dara and Beatrix

Colleen, a young couple with an award-winning dairy farm and a love of technology. Vanessa

Kili O'Connor, who some of you might know as the Dairy Fairy. Vanessa is a major supporter of

women farmers in Ireland, and Darina Allen, a beloved figure on the Irish culinary scene, and a founder

of the Ballymalu Cookery School, which is on a 100-acre farm. I know lots of you want to attend

Ballymolu one day, and I am certainly on that list. Instead of retire, like some of her peers,

Dorena is overseeing a brand new program, the Ballymalu Organic Farm School, and

she could not be more thrilled about her latest adventure.

I had the best time in Ireland and am amazed at the culinary revolution underway in the country,

thanks to the farmers, fishermen, chefs, bakers, and makers.
