In chapter five, we are still processing the assembly ball.

Chapter four, as you might remember, was Jane and Elizabeth conferring about the ball

just the two of them.

Today, we're talking about chapter five when the whole Lucas family, who are neighbors

of the Bennett's, come over to the Bennett's house to discuss everything that happened

at the previous night's event.

The gossip confirms a few things, one that Bingley seemed to really like Jane, and two

that Darcy was a total jerk to Lizzie.

Darcy's jerkingness is discussed at length, and it is decided that his pride is obviously

the problem.

Charlotte Lucas, a close friend of Lizzie's, says that it's fair that Darcy is so proud.

Elizabeth says that she could more easily forgive Darcy's pride, except that he'd wounded hers.

Chapter six is about Darcy and Lizzie being thrown together again and again.
