Hello, hello, hello, welcome to the show, starting on time, more or less. Hey, these as I don't

0:15.7

treat you. We have an action packed show today in Ponzi show because I couldn't do a show

0:20.4

at the weekend. Obviously, we normally do this on a Saturday or Sunday, but life and treated,

0:24.8

sorry about that, turns out I do have some sort of life, it's just quite chaotic.

0:28.0

We've got a lot to talk about today. We are going to talk about later an uprising in France,

0:34.0

the attempt by Emmanuel Macron, who is the neo-liberal, centrist dad pin up,

0:41.0

president of France, who has tried to force three pension age hikes. The famous people did not

0:47.2

like this, but actually there's a lot more going on as well. We don't need to call Stangler,

0:52.6

the brilliant journalist who is in France, who will be reporting on what's actually happening

0:57.1

on the ground, what's actually driving this beyond the issue of pensions, which a lot of people

1:01.8

have been focusing on understandably, but it does go much forward with them that. And we'll talk about

1:07.6

you know, where this is likely to lead, will the left benefit from it? Obviously, France has a very

1:12.5

strong far right in the form of, of course, Marine Le Pen's movement, but we've got a lot to talk

1:19.7

about there. We'll also be talking about the suspension, not the suspension, Jeremy Corbyn

1:24.0

kicked out the Labour Party essentially. He's been forbidden, or sorry, his local party is

1:28.6

limited north, has been forbidden from re-selecting him as the local candidate. They've selected him

1:34.4

as their candidate in every single election since 1983 before I was born, in which he's won

1:41.7

10 elections in a row. They've been banned, they're democratic right, to re-select him as an MP,

1:47.6

and a very factional move by the people around Keir Starmer, who won the Labour leadership on

1:52.3

a entirely duplicitous and dishonest programme. We're talking about that with Jess Barnard,

1:58.1

who is a member of Labour's NEC. She voted, that's an absolute entity, she voted to keep,

2:05.1

obviously, Jeremy Corbyn, or to maintain the democratic right of his local party to re-select him,
