I'm going to make a Dua, and that'll be the title of this lecture for tonight.

And I want you to instinctively say this to yourself as you're driving home today.

Oh Allah, use me as a vessel.

Oh, Allah, use me as a vessel.

Allah, Allah, mustaamine, and not tostabdil use me as a vessel.

Allah mustaamina,

wala taistabdlna.

Oh, Allah, use us.

Do not replace us.

I was thinking about the moment that we are living in right now.

Where you are witnessing

some of the most consequential global shifts that you can perhaps

recall in your lifetime. I know for me and as I leave here I'm on my way to Bosnia

where it would have been 30 years since the

genocide in Serbenica that still feels so fresh in the midst of a genocide taking

place in Gaza and the world is shifting more now than any time I can remember in my lifetime.

So much is happening.

And you have to look at all of that and you have to choose what role you want to play

in everything that's happening and allow me to explain for a moment. There are some people who when they see the world seemingly shifting off of its axis

will brace themselves and make their greatest dua,

O Allah, protect me from the shifts of the world.
