Hello, newscast is coming to you from the Edinburgh Fringe,

0:09.3

which means we've got a live audience of newscasters here.

Hello.

I'm doing that thing that you see the warm-up guys do for live shows, where they get the audience to clap and then come down, and then up again, and down again. Yeah, so we're at the National Museum of Scotland, which I'm ashamed to admit I've never actually visited. But I grew up in Glasgow. It's a long way away. It's like a whole like 50 minutes on the train.

And it's free entry. Oh yeah. So it's great to be here at this museum with loads of great artefacts like literally just through that wall. And we're right in the middle of Edinburgh,

0:47.3

which is just going through this amazing period that it has every year in August where just the

best actors, comedians, musicians, performers,

and audiences flock to the fringe, the book festival, the television festival, the international

festival, there's so much going on and I mean you can see I don't know like five at the film festival,

thank you down the front room, oh you're playing charades, okay, there's so to see. It's the sort of place where you can kind of do like 15 things in one day and still feel that you missed out on loads of things. So it's great for newscast to be here. And we're going to do some shows that will feel like newscast, but we'll also feel a little bit different as well because we've got a big audience and it's this summer and we're surrounded by loads of art and creativity. So maybe we'll be a little bit more arty and creative than we would normally be. But equally, if there's big news, we'll still cover that as well and still do it in the newscast way. But the first thing you're going to notice, apart from you can hear that I'm on a microphone in a

theatre with loads of friends of the podcast, is that we've got some special bespoke newscast

titles. So you know the music and then the famous clips from the news. They have been reimagined

by some friends of the pod who are the King's singers who go around the world, doing great concerts to have sold our audiences.
