Little Mouse Cleaning House Once upon a time there was a teeny tiny little wood mouse,

and her name, appropriately enough, was Mrs. Tittle Mouse.

She lived in a clean earth bank under a tidy little hedge row managed by tidy little farmers.

And under that hedge row, she had such a funny house.

There were yards and yards of sandy passages, leading to store rooms and nutsellers and seed sellers, all amongst the roots of the hedge.

And all of them were packed, packed, packed with food.

You could hardly open a door without an avalanche of acorns or a storm of stems sweeping down around you.

It was all very tidy though, and she had the space to manage it.

She had a kitchen, sure, but she also had fancy rooms like a parlor, a pantry, a root cellar, and a larder.

Also, there was Mrs. Tittlemous bedroom, where she slept in a little box bed.

It had a beautiful bandana for a blanket and a pillow one of her cousins had taken from

a dollhouse.

When she wasn't sleeping in it, and said, cousins had taken from a doll house.

When she wasn't sleeping in it, and sometimes when she was, it was always made up neat as a pin.
