Hello and welcome back to Cult Leader. I'm your Cult Leader, Spencer Henry, and this is a little leader.

A little different. You're picking up what I'm putting down. We are rebranding our little leaders just a little bit this year. I'm always trying to think of new ways to keep things fresh. This past year we really got right into our stories on the main episodes of Cult Leader, which took away some of our freedom to talk about other things that are happening in the news.

I know I'll usually start out a little leader with an article or something, but last week we covered a few trending topics, and I really liked that.

I think we're going to start talking about some more news stories, current happenings, and then also, of course, read your guys' stories that you send to me.

Before we get into any of that, on obituary, we start off with some death-centric Am I the Asoles from Reddit, but I saw this one about QAnon today, and I wanted to read it on here because, well, it makes sense.

And it says, Am I the Asole for provoking an old Facebook acquaintance slash QAnon follower until he made a death threat against me on Facebook.

This person wrote, I'm Facebook friends with someone I went to high school with two decades ago. We were never close, he's just one of those Facebook connections that build up over time.

Anyway, he never used to post on political topics, but within the last two years, he started sharing a lot of content around the QAnon conspiracy theory.

It's ridiculous and sendiary stuff, and it's clogging up my feed to the point that it's all I see when I log into Facebook sometimes.

Last week I started leaving comments on his post, explaining that there was no truth to any of it, and he began to angrily reply and insult me.

It pissed me off he was insulting me, so I started to mock him and the QAnon movement for being gullible fools.

He replied with a comment about how a great reckoning was coming, and the second amendment meant that it wouldn't end well for me.

Ugh, we've heard about this great reckoning before.

At this point, I insulted him again and asked what he meant about the second amendment. He replied, it means I'm gonna put a bullet between your eyes the next time I see you. Jesus Christ.

To be honest, I wasn't really scared for my own safety, we live in different states, but it still bothered me that someone would make a death threat so casually, even if I was trying to make him mad.

So I took a screenshot and sent it to his employer, oh shit, this is escalating.

I received a very apologetic email from the company saying they're taking the matter seriously and that he no longer works there. Of course, I started to get abusive Facebook messages from his friends, which I just ignore, but I was telling the story to friends of Red Drink Sauce Night in the group was pretty divided.

A couple were very upset with me, and I'm mostly looking for a second opinion here. Did I go too far?

If you're not familiar with the way this works, in the Am I the asshole group on Reddit, people either vote, you're the asshole, you're not the asshole, or everybody sucks.

In this case, they wrote everybody sucks, and I gotta say I agree. I don't always agree, but with this situation in particular I do.
