A It's Friday, January 16th, 2026. This is cult leader. Just kidding. Welcome back to cold leader. I'm your

cult leader, Spencer Henry. What if that's the vibe? What if that was what it was? Kind of like a

little bit of an NPR vibe. Is that what we need? No, no, we can't. We've tried. We've tried to go a few different

routes with this show over the fucking, I'm just going to start saying almost decade that we've

been doing this because I think this year will be eight years of cult leader come September.

And we've, you know, we've gone a more journalistic approach. We've gone

the early days, the Wikipedia approach. And at the end of the day, I think we always just

come back to me just telling you stories the way that I do. It's very rare that I actually sit and record a little leader

on the same day that it's going out. It's kind of, there's something exciting about it to me,

but it is Friday, truly Friday for me. And it's been a hell of a week, which is why I'm

recording this. So last minute, he's turning in his

homework just on time, we'll say. He's not late. He's just on time. But I had such a wild

week and completely missed a day of work. So here I am. Is it work if you love it? I don't know,

but we're working it. This is a little

leader, if you're not familiar with how the formatting of this show goes after, I don't know,

hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of episodes. Little leaders are our weekly hangout,

a lot more casual than the regular cult leader episodes.
