Tonight I will be reading chapter 2 from the book Little House in the Big Woods, called

Winter Days and Winter Nights by Laura Ingles Wilder.

The story takes place in 1871 about a little girl called Laura and her family who live

in a little house in the woods in Wisconsin.

Pioneer life is not easy, and the family must gather and prepare as much food as possible

for the long cold winter ahead.

But even though Pioneer life can have its challenges, it can also be very fun as Laura and

their family enjoy celebrating Christmas, spring planting, and bringing in the harvest.
