A while back, I was talking to my father about comedy Kansas City.

I was deciding whether or not my family should make a trip to Kansas City for just a few days

and I was sort of debating about whether it was worth the effort to deal with the trip and come

since we couldn't stay for very long.

And my father made an observation that was so true and I thought about it so often in the context

of my family, my friends, any kind of relationship.

He said, well, I think that frequency is more important than duration when it comes to visiting.

And the fact is that is really true. Seeing someone more often, talking to someone more often,

connecting more often is more important than having a very long visit or a long exchange when

it happens. And in fact, there's something to very frequent short engagements that really

promote that feeling of intimacy and being part of people's lives. I often remind myself,
