Telegraph's Defence and Security Editor Dominic Nichols and Assistant Comment Editor,

Francis Donnelly. I started by asking Don and Francis for the latest news from Ukraine.

Yeah, hi David, hi everyone. It's been fairly static in terms of movement of the front line around

around Donbass and the east. He's on in the south car, keeping the north, but that doesn't mean

there's not been a huge amount of violence and suffering. So firstly in the Donbass region

in the east, it's mainly an artillery battle. That's been the feature for the last few weeks now,

very, very small gains either way. There's thought to be about a thousand Ukrainian troops still

in the Asop plant in Sevdenetsk. They're not, we don't think they're entirely surrounded,

but Russia has dropped the three bridges to the west so they're sort of preventing them
