Today we bring you a breakout session on judging Deborah, letting the narrative and poetry speak with Kathleen Nielsen.

This message was originally given at TGC's 2019 National Conference in Indianapolis.

It is a delight to spend this session digging into the Old Testament story of Deborah together.

At the start, I would like to mention four specific goals for this session.

The first one is simply that to dig into the text,

as much as we have time for in an hour,

which will be only the beginning of digging into the text,

but we will begin and simply to relish

together this remarkable story given to us in the book of judges chapters four and five.

The second goal is closely related to the first and it is to let Deborah speak from the text.

I want to be clear that I am not here with the personal goal of making a point with Deborah.
