What I wanted to make sure that we did talk a bit more about is your understanding of lament,

what it means for us to engage those issues that often

don't get heard as the place of God. Lament is often we think of as the acknowledgement

of God's absconding, the deus absconditis,

God who has left us in the midst of our pain,

in the midst of our loss or confusion.

and where it takes us with regard to hearing God.

Let me take a bit out of the book and describe to you.

My hope is that many of the people who are listening to this podcast have been in our building, but we have the privilege at this time in our history of housing our school in what is a 110-year-old building on the waterfront of Seattle.

It started as the Shlopek Fishery across the street in what is now a four-star hotel.
