I'm Warren Smith and today you'll be listening in on my conversation with singer, songwriter,

and an advocate for film writing and singing Keith Gettie.

Sometimes it's an idea that we're then trying to work on how that will work in a service.

Sometimes it's actually as simple as we need more songs to open a service with because

you know, conservatives don't dance, they need some more songs at the start.

I wish singer and songwriter Keith Gettie is best known for the film in Christalown,

which he co-wrote with Stuart Townan.

But as we will hear in this interview, he is a man of many parts.

He began his career as a flute and saxophone player and an arranger for Sir James Goway,

Michael W. Smith, and many others.

Today with his wife, Kristen, he tours the world from a base in Nashville, though I

should add that he does still keep a home in Ireland where he and his family live for

part of the year.

But he's much more than a singer and touring Christian music artist.

He has sold out Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

with his Christmas tour.

A PBS Christmas special that he and Kristen did was seen by more than 50 million people

worldwide.

And the Gettie's annual Sing Conference as held in Nashville have become must attend

events for worship leaders, pastors, and many others around the country and even around

the world.

They attract thousands each year featuring great Bible teaching, great singing and musical
