Summary

Is it EVER appropriate to correct another mom’s car seat buckling technique? A listener wants to hear Meagan and Sarah’s thoughts on whether we feel comfortable offering unsolicited safety tips to other parents. Another mom asks our thoughts on how you distribute your parenting energy evenly when one kid is really struggling and others are “just bopping along”. We also talk about how to get through the day as a mom when you’re the one struggling, and finish out the episode with advice for containing a super-creative kid’s projects and experiments. It’s another Listener Questions episode – enjoy, friends!

Hi, I'm Sarah and I'm Megan. We're two moms with eight kids between us from

0:05.2

little to grown. We're in different areas of the country and in different stages

0:09.0

of life, but we both know that motherhood's a lot easier when real moms share

0:12.7

tips and encouragement. And remind you that it's really all gonna be okay. We're

0:16.6

not experts. We're parents who've been there. We're not perfect. We're real.

Welcome to the mom hour. Hi everyone and welcome to episode 318 of the mom

0:26.7

0:31.1

excited to be doing listener questions again. I know it's like one of our

0:35.2

favorite things. And if you listened last week, we also did listener questions.

We tend to do these. Well, we always do these two in a row. Yeah, unless we're

doing like a special one off, like a themed one, but you're almost always in

0:49.2

pairs about every three months. Yeah, and so we'll solicit questions from the

0:53.9

community. And some of these are questions we just got. And some are questions

0:57.9

we've been sitting on for a while. We try to mix it up so that we have a good,

1:00.5

you know, a good blend of different kinds of questions in each episode. But we

1:04.6

really love these because it allows us to dive deep on more specific

1:08.8

parenting concerns than we usually do. Usually we try to like hit

1:12.6

everybody's. We try to be everything for everybody. And sometimes it's nice

1:15.7

just to be able to answer people's specific questions. So a big caveat that

1:19.5

we aren't always, this is just us, right? This is just our opinions. And we're

1:24.9

not maybe always going to address your specific situation to your, to your

1:30.7

ultimate liking. It's how we do things. And that's okay. Yeah. I mean, we are,
