Okay, so our first question to start us off is Lucy Barrett from Twitter says,

Scotus found the Texas abortion law to be urgent enough to immediately rule on it sort of.

The investigation of the January 6th attempted overthrow of our government is surely as important.

Could the January 6th committee go to Scotus directly to enforce their subpoenas?

Okay, thanks, Lucy. That's a fairly rich one.

So let me start by saying, here's what the court would say.

The court would say, we are passive when things come to us.

We have to rule and we had a motion come to us in the Texas case from challengers,

people who were saying that they were being threatened and injured by the Texas statute.

And they surely were. They were having not to perform abortions.

These were by doctors and all kinds of ways they could show injury.

That will normally do it.

But then we go to the dastardly element in the Texas statute,

which is completely on purpose unprecedented as the Chief Justice said.
