The most important thing to understand is that regret it is an emotion, and it's a negative emotion.

It's a motion that makes us feel bad. But it requires incredible cognitive dexterity because you're traveling in time,

you're negating what really happens, you're traveling back to the present and you're seeing a

reconfigured present based on the decisions you made in the reconfigured past. This is why five-year-olds

can't experience regret. It's why sociopaths don't experience regret.
