Best ill day just July 14th is the anniversary of the storming of the

Bastille on the 14th of July 1789

A major event in the French Revolution perhaps the most well-remembered

event of the French Revolution. It is typically celebrated with fireworks

but with the riots that have been occurring they have tamped that down this year for fear

that their illegal alien North African and Middle Eastern population of

terrorists will use that as cover to set more fires. And I realize I'll hear

from a number of people the French are stupid, the French are weak. I'll make

French jokes too but by the way I make kounash jokes and black jokes and

Indian jokes and women jokes and any other number of jokes but don't mistake that I don't like

the French. You don't have the American experience without the French. You have to understand

that our revolution and the revolutionary spirit and the ideals that encompass the American

revolution can be tied directly to the Scottish Enlightenment, the British tradition,

and the French Revolution and the revolutionary spirit that had been brewing for quite some time.

The egalitarianism, the fraternity, those concepts were offered to the world by the French

before even the Americans. We lifted those concepts gladly, proudly, openly.

If you don't like the French you don't know their history and you don't know their impact and

influence on American history. And the greatest founder who gets the least amount of appreciation

for what is do him is most certainly Benjamin Franklin who could have practically been king of
