Hello and welcome to another episode of the Fully Charged Show podcast, really every

and then.

I, I, I, it's so hard to start these introductions because if there's such a thrill for me to

talk to some of the people that I've, that I've been able to talk to on this show and

this one is a, is really right up there.

This is amazing.

So I would think probably, well, I thought of 2011, it's actually 2012.

I watched a TED talk by Professor Donald Satterway about energy storage and about batteries and

about battery chemistry and I was absolutely gripped by it partly because of his explanation

of the actual technology, partly because of his bigger vision of why that could be quite

an important topic.

And it's taken until 2023 to, to get to talk to him on the Fully Charged Show podcast.

So he is an extraordinary man.

I'm going to read you out the description of his work from the Masters Tussett Institute

of Technology website, which is where he lectures and has, is a professor, MIT, as it's

more commonly known, where, to be honest, when you look at incredible technological breakthroughs

of the last, let's say, let's not exaggerate, 45 years, a huge number of them have either

come out of MIT or been inspired or come out of people who've been to MIT.

It's kind of become a pretty extraordinary place for innovation, science and technology.

So Professor David Satterway's research seeks to establish the scientific underpinnings

for technologies that make efficient use, efficient use of energy and natural resources

in an environmentally sound manner.
