What is up, everybody? Welcome to another episode of Limited Resources. This episode, number 593. My name is Marshall. I'm one of your limited resources and joining me online all the way from Denver, Colorado. It's Luis.

0:28.0

Luis, you've been drafting it up?

0:30.0

Oh, yeah. I have done a lot of drafts, and I guess one way to put it in perspective, I know we're going to talk about this card later is I've had four different decks with Cody in it, the book rare.

0:40.0

Yeah, you could say I've done a few drafts.

0:43.0

Yeah, because I think I've been doing a decent amount, but I've only had one Cody and any of my draft piles, and I didn't even end up playing it.

0:51.0

So there you go. Mainly because I still don't really know what it does. So that's probably a problem. Maybe you can help me with that today because there has been some chatter on Twitter about it being maybe a little better than it looked at first glance.

1:04.0

Before we get into our Strixhaven first impressions show here. Let's talk about our sponsor channel Fireball.com with their sweet new logo.

1:11.0

You can enter over to Channel Fireball for really anything you need magic related. They've always got something going on over at CFB, you know, some type of promotion or cool new thing coming out depending on what what it is that you're into.

1:25.0

And of course, content, right? You know, this shows not the only content that you can get from Channel Fireball. They sponsor us, but you know, there's content directly on the front page with articles from some of your favorite players and personalities from around the magic scene.

1:41.0

And then on top of that, you can even get CFB Pro, which is the premium content side of things. So that's where you get the super deep dives on to construct the decks or even sometimes limited content that goes extra deep.

1:56.0

And you can find that stuff now from some of the best writers in the game, William, Huey, Jensen, Riley Knight also happens to right there, Martin, Yuzza, Luis Scott, Vargas, Reed, Duke, Andream, and Gucci.

2:08.0

These are really some of the best players and a bunch also of up and coming writers as well that you can find over at Channel Fireball and while you're there, you can pick up Strix Haven. So yeah, it's time for that now.

2:19.0

And the lesson starts soon as it says on the website and you can head over and pick up Strix Haven. And you know, you can do what I did on the weekend.

2:27.0

You know, we use spell table, which is primarily a commander focused site, but you can use it for for one on one as well. And I played against people over a spell table for the Strix Haven pre release party. It was really fun.

2:43.0

And I got that feeling of holding actual magic cards in my hand and getting to talk to people that are real human beings and using their voice and everything. So that was really cool.

2:53.0

And that was really cool. And if you want to try that, you could even just play with your friends or whatever over that and get those cards in your hand, you can pick up those boxes, singles, anything else you need over at Channel Fireball.

3:03.0

Additionally, if you do buy something, if you would use the affiliate code LR at checkout, it helps us out and we do appreciate it. You can also support us directly through the Patreon. That's patreon.com slash limited resources.

3:15.0

Fully flexible, fully transparent way to support your the content creators that you love. And if we happen to be one of them, we'd certainly appreciate it if you would support us over on Patreon.

3:25.0

You get a bunch of cool little perks too, including you get to ask questions on the Patreon feed for the Patreon question of the week. This one comes from Harry, who says if your opening hand has two lands, a two drop and any land off the top can cast the rest of your spells. Do you keep it on the play?

3:43.0

You have a 90.4% chance of drawing a third land by turn four. This says is 9.6% odds missing your third land and fourth land drop and 5.7 to miss your fifth to risky. How do you hit your win rate compared to your first Mulligan?

4:01.0

The short answer is, is it too risky? No, not at all. In most gaming scenarios, you are going to be hard pressed to find a 90% scenario for almost anything. That is as good as it gets with unknown information.

4:19.0

I would never Mulligan a hand that had two lands, a two drop and the rest being three drops.
