0:00.0	Hey all our listeners, Marshall and Louise here, just we wanted to have a quick chat with you ahead of the regularly scheduled programming for L.R.
0:11.0	We took the week off last week because with all of the things going on in the world
0:16.4	and particularly here in the US, it didn't feel like the right time replaced to be talking
0:21.8	about magic and stuff like that to be honest and frankly I just
0:25.5	didn't feel like it it felt out of place at the time to do so so we took the week
0:30.5	off we are back this week, but this has brought some challenges along as a
0:36.2	content creator and we wanted to have a quick chat with you about that before we
0:38.8	get into the show. The basics of it are there's kind of two sides to a coin here one side is that there's really important
0:47.9	political cultural things happening around the world right now in response to coronavirus and also racial
0:54.2	inequality and police brutality here in the US. And these are clearly issues that
0:58.8	are more important than anything that we talk about here on the podcast. And there's a way of thinking that says,
1:05.3	if you believe that these are big issues,
1:07.1	then you should use the platforms that you have available to you
1:09.7	to speak about them.
1:11.1	And that's a logical place. That makes sense. The other side of the coin
1:14.8	has to do with content and how it relates to individuals. I know that for me if I feel like
1:22.4	I'm struggling with life or with mental health or something like that
1:26.2	I often turn to my favorite content creators in the form of podcasts or YouTube videos as a reprieve a way for me to focus my brain on something that I enjoy and something that I like.
1:38.0	And then I get back to worrying and trying to think about the big issues that we have.
1:44.2	And I know I'm always really grateful for those content creators for providing that.
1:48.8	And the problem is that if every content creator uses their platform to talk about the political or the things that they want to talk about that are happening in the world outside of their normal purview, then it can be hard to find that escape.
