Think about a time you lost something. Maybe you lost a favorite toy or you misplaced

a library book. We all lose things from time to time. The trick is figuring out how to

find them again. In today's story, when a humble baker loses something precious, a brand

new judge finds a very creative way to get it back. I'm Rebecca Sheer and welcome to Circle

Round, where story time happens all the time. Today our story is called, Like Oil and Water.

It's inspired by tales from China in East Asia.

Some really great people came together to bring you our folk tale, including Michelle

Ang, whom you kids might recognize from the Disney Plus Star Wars series The Bad Batch,

and you Grown-ups might know from Fear, The Walking Dead, and The Twilight Zone.

Michelle has also directed and produced her own animated series Riddle Me This.

So Circle Round everyone, for Like Oil and Water.

There once was a baker. Every morning the baker woke with the sun and whipped up batches

of pastries, flaky tarts, fluffy cakes, and her specialty, sweet fritters, long strands of dough

which she twisted like a rope before deep frying them in a bubbling fat of oil.

Once everything was ready, the baker loaded her pastries into a big basket lined with wax paper.
