I was reading an article early this morning in the Wall Street Journal that's titled COVID will soon be endemic.

Thank goodness.

The article written by Dr. Monica Gandhi, an infectious disease doctor.

And in this article, she points out that a disease becomes endemic when it is manageable.

With respect to COVID-19, the goal of eradication has always been unrealistic.

And that includes the attempt of eradication by masks and by social distancing and by lockdowns and by travel restrictions

and contact tracing, etc. What is required instead of these measures is and always has been,

and we've talked about this often at the Christian

Research Institute, has been widespread immunity. These cells produce high levels of neutralizing

antibodies if they encounter the virus again, and that's even in its variant forms.

This happened with the 1918 flu pandemic, and it is likely to happen with COVID-19 as well.

In this article, Dr. Gandhi points out that no vaccine preventable or immunity-inducing infection

has ever raged on as a pandemic indefinitely. That's in the history of the human race as far as we know.

And COVID-19 thus is destined for the same fate as other cold-causing coronaviruses.

In the end, COVID-19 will make a transition, a transition from epidemic to endemic.

And of course, the sooner that happens, the better.
