I mean, yes, but specifically Lifetime's holiday films. In the past few years, Lifetime Films. I mean, yes, but specifically Lifetime's holiday films.

In the past few years, Lifetime has totally revamped and re-energized the genre by making black, brown, Asian, queer, and disabled folks the focus of their programming.

The turn to Black Lab programming in particular has been exciting and

perplexing at times to Brittany and me, so we decided to dissect a few of them and their appeal

for you all today. We have a special appearance from Lifetime's VP of scripted content,

Sepna Vias, to give us the real deal on Lifetime's Evolution. You won't want to miss this.

So I grew up with a sister, older sister, shout out, who loves Lifetime and Hallmark

Films.

And so I grew up watching them too, especially the holiday

ones. Like I love a good holiday film. I like the big budget Hollywood ones, like the holiday or even

the Family Stone. I know controversial pick. I know sometimes like people are not super into that

one, but I love holiday movies, but I always wish that they had been more

diverse, especially, I'd say, like, the Hallmark holiday movies are very much like blonde girl

from the city, ends up in the country with the park ranger, you know what I mean?

I feel like there's a Bible involved somewhere, but...

Yeah, there's a Bible involved, and then the small town, like, lets her light the Christmas treat.

Like, you know what I'm saying?

That type of stuff.
