This week, my Wednesday Podcast is a conversation with children's author and my virtual friend Maria Dismondy. We pack so much into this quick interview. Listen in to hear how we talk about living a life with healthy balance and discuss virtual book tours.

We also talk about how to change the conversations we are having inside of our homes. We talk about how to build a library of books that represent all of the children and how our books should reflect the world around us. Maria has written books with the goal of making sure there are children's books that celebrate our differences so that any kid can open a book and see themselves in the pages.

0:36.4	global pandemic and everyone being safe at home, I really wanted to deep dive into what Maria has been doing because specifically she
0:44.4	started Sunnyside up homeschool which was a impromptu homeschool that she
0:50.0	started on her Instagram channel for children that ended up just mushrooming and growing and
0:55.5	she was consistent all the way through the school year, both with her own kids and all of the
1:00.8	children that were following her online,
1:03.0	going through her unique children's books,
1:05.0	all about empathy and compassion
1:08.0	and all of those great quality characteristics
1:12.0	that we want kids to have.

1:15.4	I would see all the fun crafts she was doing with everyone and I just,
1:19.1	I was like, this is going to stop eventually, but oh no no once Maria decides she's going to do
1:23.6	something she's super super consistent and she kept up with homeschooling other
1:28.2	people's children for free through the end of the spring school year.
