Summary

Welcome to the new Take Back Your Mind Life Question of Week, now featuring *two* Life Questions plus a meditation to anchor in the lessons from Michael's answers.

Our first question comes from Ashley, whose spiritual FOMO is desperately driving her quest for the next big 'aha' moment.

Next, Shefali wants to know if spirituality itself can be trusted when she sees online spiritual teachers talk about oneness, yet also spread division or fear.

Finally, Michael leads a special guided meditation on the feeling-tone of All Needs Met.

The new life question of the week.

0:50.6

The difference is I answer two questions and complete it with the meditation.

0:56.5

So today I have Ashley asking the first question.

1:03.7

She says, I think I have an addiction to spiritual books, meaning I feel that if I don't read all the ones I want to read, I will miss out on the

1:13.9

aha moment that changes my life. How do I curb my fomo while still enjoying reading spiritual

1:21.4

books? Ashley, this is a great issue to have. You love reading spiritual books. So they are inspiring you. They're encouraging

you. And so to basically not feel a sense of fomo, there must be some dedicated practice

1:38.4

combined with your reading. Henry David Thoreau had this as a practice.

1:46.1

Whatever book he was reading, whenever he came to a moment that was kind of an aha moment,

1:51.5

a satory moment in which it was really grabbing him, he closed the book and asked himself,

1:58.0

how can I practice this that I just read?

2:01.6

And he would not pick up the book again until he had integrated that into some level of practice.

2:08.6

I'm advising you to do the same thing.

2:11.6

So instead of wondering if I don't read all these books, I'm not going to have an aha moment.

2:16.6

Every time you have one, close the book.

2:19.8

Ask yourself, how can I put this into practice?

2:22.9

Your mind, your soul will guide your mind as to what you can do to practice.

2:27.4

And once you practice, then come back and continue reading.

2:30.8

So it doesn't matter after that.
