Summary

Our first letter comes from Beu: After the birth of her daughter, Beu found herself trapped in survival mode as stress, exhaustion, and relationship strain overwhelmed her nervous system. Now that the relationship has ended, she asks how to discern whether it truly ran its course—or whether fear and postpartum survival shaped the outcome.

Our next letter comes from Lori H. in Canada: Despite years of meditation and inner work, Lori feels shaken by the suffering and injustice she sees in the world. She asks how to stay rooted in love, hope, and spiritual clarity without becoming consumed by anger, helplessness, or despair.

Next, Michael leads a guided meditation.

Our first letter comes from Bo.

0:52.7

She writes this.

1:11.2

After the birth of my daughter, I went to what I can only describe as a deep survival mode. The months that followed were intense. I was navigating new motherhood, sleep deprivation, financial pressure, and a relationship which was already under strain.

1:17.4

I felt like everything hit it once, and my nervous system stayed in a constant state of protection.

1:22.6

Looking back, I can see I was operating from a heightened alertness and defensiveness.

1:31.3

My thinking became very black and white, and situations or people that once felt manageable began to feel threatening. My reactions were stronger and I was often acting from instinct as if my mind was so focused entirely on protecting myself and my child.

1:42.3

This deeply impacted my relationship with my child's father.

1:49.8

What once felt like a partnership became adversarial.

1:54.7

Communications broke down, conflict escalated, and eventually eventually relationship ended.

2:03.6

Now, with some distance, I'm reflecting with more clarity.

2:07.6

What I struggle with is understanding how much was driven by a postpartum stress,

2:13.6

survivor mode, and fear, and how much was the reality of a relationship not meant to continue?

2:21.3

So my question is, when relationship ends during such an intense and vulnerable time,

2:28.4

do you accept it that it has run its course?

2:33.3

Or is there a way to understand whether it was shaped

2:36.0

by a temporary survival mode

2:38.0

or a true sign, the relationship wasn't meant to continue?

2:43.4

Bo? Great question.

2:47.1

Great question.
