Summary

Today, our first letter comes from Jessi: After living with chronic illness, Jessi once found comfort in the belief that "everything happens for a reason"—until that idea began to trouble her. She now wonders: if suffering has a purpose, is trying to prevent it interfering with something divine? Jessi asks how to reconcile a loving Universe with pain—and whether helping others could ever be spiritually "wrong."

Our next letter comes from Sandra P. from the Ivory Coast: Sandra is intentionally rebuilding a long-fractured relationship with her mother through prayer, appreciation, and forgiveness. But while she works to heal their bond, her mother continues to wound other family members. Sandra asks how to stay authentically loving without condoning harmful behavior—and whether she should focus only on their relationship or try to mend the whole family.

Finally, Michael leads a guided meditation to cultivate an inner realization of who you are, and that your True Self is right here.

This first letter comes from Jesse. I have suffered from a chronic illness since I was

0:58.2

very young because I always felt deeply connected to spirituality. I clung to the belief that

1:05.9

everything happens for a reason. For a long time, this belief served as a lifeline because I thought that my suffering

1:13.6

had a purpose to make me better, wiser, and a more empathetic human being. However, that

1:20.7

belief turned completely against me when it suddenly occurred to me that if bad things truly

1:26.5

do happen for a reason,

1:29.4

if I then try to prevent them through helping others,

1:33.5

I might actually be taking something valuable away.

1:37.1

This thought terrified and crushed me in a way that I can't fully describe.

I want nothing more than to be a loving human

who takes good care of others and myself.

1:48.8

I volunteer, I help.

I try to give love whatever I can

and wherever I can, but underneath it all,

I'm constantly afraid

that helping others might somehow be wrong.

Yet, that feels horrible and completely out of alignment with my soul.

2:09.7

I've always believed that fully experiencing life allows us to love ourselves more deeply.

But how can we fully experience ourselves without encountering things we would instinctively
