Summary

In today’s episode, Rachel is speaking to you at almost four weeks postpartum. She shares what life has been like in the newborn bubble and how her physical recovery has went since birth. On top of that, you get to hear an update on the entire family: Finn’s sleeping patterns, Rachel’s worries about Lea as a mom of two, and how Dennis is handling the transition. Overall, it’s a big time for this little family! But it’s also a time to lean into softness, show yourself compassion, and lower the bar on productivity. Society tells us we need to “snap back” after birth - but then we miss out on so many tender moments. After all, your newborn is only this little once. This episode will remind you to embrace where you are now and to not take advantage of the small moments of joy that make up your life. Like, it's very hard for me to think about anything else. It really is just all consuming this time.

And if I sound tired, it's because I am. I am absolutely tired. I'm tired and

1:25.0

feeling blissful, feeling just soft and vulnerable, and exhausted, and happy, and you know,

1:35.0

all the things at the same time. And I find it so, you know, it's so funny when you have a

1:40.2

when you have a newborn baby and you're nursing all night and you're not getting to sleep that

1:45.2

you normally get. I find that the mornings, we don't really have that clear transition from

1:50.4

night to day, you know, with an older child, a little bit older. I mean, we'll have this in a

1:55.4

couple months, but you know, they kind of wake up at a certain time every morning, and regardless

2:00.8

of how the night has been, if it was a terrible night or a great night or a full night sleep or no

2:04.8

sleep, you know, the day has begun. Like that child will be awake and like, okay, here we go. The day,

2:10.7

the day is starting. But with a newborn, you know, they just sleep so much and they sleep all the time.

2:16.1

And I find that that transition to waking up, it's just, it's very long. Like sometimes we wake up,
